Cheryl Powell grew up on the central Oregon Coast; exploring tidepools with her mother and five siblings. Cheryl graduated from Oregon State University in 1982, with a B.S. in Textile Science. In 1983 Cheryl was accepted at the prestigious Thundering Seas School for Goldsmithing. Director, Delphine Lass Krielsheimer of New York, passed on tool-making, hand-fabrication techniques for one-of-a-kind jewelry and a delight in sharing her old-world skills.

Now a resident of Shasta County, Cheryl is enjoying her other pastime. Her paintings are full of life, vibrant with colors, and touches people of every age.
